Fazlur Rehman urges PDM and JUI-F supporters to participate in peaceful protest in front of the Sun on Monday.

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday urged workers of his own party and other parties of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), in addition to general public join “Peaceful protest in front of the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday for accountability and conservation of constitutional values.

Maulan Fazl, in video message, asked him followers and workers of other parties to maintain unity in their ranks and reach in convoys at exactly 9 am on D-Day at the venue of protest.

He claimed that the protest was aimed at “defending the inviolability of government agencies and correctional authorities of “judicial violations””, which, according to him, are detrimental to public interests.

JUI-F chief said the poor people of Pakistan carried the burden of “salaries of judges, which is an alleged abuse of taxpayers money and the latter violate the Constitution, laws and judicial traditions.”

Maulana Fazl asked why preferential treatment was given out to the condemned criminal”. This trend, if left untested, will further promote criminal activities, which ultimately poses a serious threat to national economy connected with national decay, he warned.

He called on his supporters, the workers of all political parties and public gather on Constitution Avenue on Monday morning saying it party leaders and volunteers of Ansar Al-Islam will be on site to assist local authorities. for ensuring order and security during the protest action.

Head of JUI-F also urged the legal fraternity to take an active part in protest, referring to its historical role in V struggle for V rule of law and rule of Constitution.

Maulana Fazl expressed hope that the demonstration give message that “the institution should do not violate discipline and should keep impartiality instead of exceeding his authority.” The nation had only one demand for justice and accountability, which should be taken into account, he argued.
