Tributes have been paid father who died after being rescued group of children caught in low tide.
Hywel Morgan, 47, helped save children who got into difficulty in sea at Poppit Sands, St. Dogmaels, Ceredigion.
Dyfed Powys police said the incident happened on Friday night when a few people were caught in low tide on beach.
Morgan, who was from the local area was retrieved from the sea, but the emergency services were unable to save him.
The police told Morgan who was known as Hyw family and friends helped save group of children who got into difficulty in water.
Relatives released a short film tribute to the “devoted and loving father”.
“Hugh was a hero. Despite our pain and grief, it gives us the consolation is that he selflessly tried to prevent the death of others,” they said.
“Hugh was a selfless man who always gave up its time for other. He was devoted and loving father and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
“How family would we be now like it’s time to mourn and beg for Confidentiality in what to do”.
Two children were taken to the hospital for testing over after the incident, the police confirmed.
