A group of sappers was called to Edinburgh. city center, after the police were alerted to the suspicious bag left on Prince Street.
The police were called to the scene busy shopping street this evening, after being warned of a man acting suspiciously. officers found bag nearby, and quickly cordoned off off in area. Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called to Princes Street to arrange with in package.
One eyewitness spotted three bomb-disposal facilities near Harvey Nichols’s station. store on Andreevskaya Square.
street was closed to pedestrians and vehicles. Several Lothian Buses were diverted from area due to road closure.
Waverley Station has been evacuated and trains are no longer running. Nearby hotels and McDonald’s in Waverley Market has also was evacuated. Another eyewitness said: “I just there is down at Waverley and eating at McDonald’s when we were told we should out. we didn’t get any more information than this, we just had to leave”
A spokesman for the Scottish Police said: “About 5:30 pm. on Thursday 10 November 2022 officers were called to Princes Street in Edinburgh for a report. of the man was acting suspicious. The bag was later found nearby and cordoned off in place as a precaution. officers in attendance and caused an EOD.”
