EA announces its commitment to accessibility by leaving the Apex Legends ping system as patent-free for other developers
Apex Legends is one of the most praised games in terms of online gaming system. And it is that the pings and communication system in this game allows players to make teamwork easy and fast without the need of using headphones and microphones, paving the way for users with cognitive disabilities to enjoy the experience in its entirety as well. In addition, it also serves to prevent certain verbal abuse and aggression within the game.
For this reason, From EA they have wanted to offer their commitment to accessibility, making Apex Legends ping markup patent-free so that other developers can use its bases when building fluid and inclusive playable experiences . As Chris Bruzzo , Executive Vice President of Positive Gaming, Commercial and Marketing at EA has commented:
