Canadian company Dbrand has withdrawn the PlayStation 5 faceplates from sale after Sony threatened to go to court.
Dbrand announced custom faceplates around the PlayStation 5 launch late last year for the PlayStation 5, as the console faceplates are relatively easy to remove. In February, Dbrand started selling the faceplates under the name ‘Darkplates’ for $50. Sony then announced that it was demanding that the company stop doing so. Previously, Sony also prevented another company from selling faceplates for the PS5.In a statement, Dbrand said last weekend that it had received a letter from the lawyers of Sony Interactive Entertainment. The lawyers say in it that they will sue the company if it continues with the sale. Dbrand shared the letter online.
