Libyan Prime Minister Abdel Hamid al-Dabaiba implicitly criticized the army commander, Khalifa Haftar, saying that the army cannot be affiliated with a person. And not “demolition.”
“He will not be subject to any authority but..”
These statements come after Haftar said on Monday that the army would not be subject to any authority, unless it is elected by the people, as it is the source of the authorities. Here we are extending our hands for a just peace with self-confidence for the higher interest of the country and for the sake of future generations.
“Our hands will remain outstretched”
To this he affirmed that “our hands will remain extended to all those who work on reconciliation, healing and turning the pages of the past.” With all its tragedies, let us build a new Libya in which goodness and peace prevail, and in which the citizen lives, dear and generous.”
Haftar stressed that the Libyan army “was the obstacle to the projects of terrorist currents.”
He also made it clear that “if the army had not believed in the peace path, the military committee would not have been formed.” He continued, “Despite the intrigues and conspiracies being hatched against the army, your army will remain and will remain steadfast and proud.”
