Cut in salary of civil servants for flood the victims are “unconstitutional”

KARACHI: Assistant session the judge approached Sindh government against payroll deductions of in government employees for flood victims, calling the deductions unconstitutional, reports ARY NEWS.

Assistant session West Karachi district judge wrote a letter to the financial secretary saying that even the land of in government employees were affected by the ongoing flooding.

“High Court of Sindh already made deductions in month of June,” he said, adding that government employees rely on their wages and crops.

He argued that such deductions without authorization of employees against constitution and demanded of Ministry of Finance to stop such deductions and return money employees.

He warned that if money not returned, then they would also apply to the Supreme Court of Sindh.

It is appropriate to mention here that government asked people donate generously for in flood casualties across the country after the country was hit by heavy rains and flash floods that forced millions nationwide.

On Thursday, Pakistani army officers and all members of the federal cabinet announced donate one monthly salary up to flood victims.

According to a statement released by the military media wing, army officers deposited one monthly salary in in flood relief fund, while others also give financial donations on voluntary basis.

“All general officers of Pakistan Army (all brigadier generals, major generals, lieutenant generals and generals) donated one monthly salary will go to aid and humanitarian aid / rations for flood-affected families in Pakistan,” ISPR said in a statement.

On the other hand, all members of federal cabinet announced donate one PM monthly salary flood aid fund.
