Hardware manufacturer Cooler Master enters the world of content production with the StreamEnjin. The AV panel, in conjunction with an iPad, forms an all-in-one production console.
Cooler Master revealed the StreamEnjin on the so-called
Summer Summit 2021. The button console offers four times HDMI input at 4k, twice at 1080p resolution. Two 1080p HDMI channels spew out video, in addition to (simultaneous) digital output in the form of an Ethernet stream and recording over USB 3.0 storage.
In terms of audio, the StreamEnjin occupies a single RCA connection, in addition to input and (monitor) output via 3.5 mm connectors. For microphone volume, an analog fader is integrated into the console, in addition to many programmable hot keys and a digital potentiometer.
It Cooler Master’s stream team underlined during a press conference that the StreamEnjin does not work so much with existing streaming software, but rather stands on its own. The device can be picked up in, for example, OBS Studio, but the idea is mainly that the StreamEnjin can be used completely independently. This could also appeal to content producers outside of Twitch, such as DIY musicians.
The StreamEnjin does require an iPad to be connected with Cooler Master’s own application. This allows the tablet to display previews of the broadcast, as well as to apply layouts, transitions and other visual effects. The app comes with eight ready-made layouts, which can then be customized as desired.

Cooler Master has not yet mentioned an official suggested retail price for the StreamEnjin. The production console should be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
