LAHORE: Punjab Higher Education Department (PHED) announced closing of all schools, colleges and universities until Friday (tomorrow).
Annual high school exams that were scheduled for May 11th and 12th also was postponed until further notice.
Bahawalpur region suspended academic activities, including exams, for two days from 11 to 12 May, in reaction to the recent situation in province of Punjab.
Officials say some schools also postponed their exams for two or more days and new exam schedule will be published soon.
However, offices of The Department of Education and educational institutions will remain open on May 11 and 12.
Staff members of Department of Education will continue to participate in professional training for electoral duties under the Electoral Commission of Pakistan (EKP).
