Last September, it was announced that Nvidia would use the SoftBank to acquire the British semiconductor manufacturer Arm for $ 40 billion. The deal has now been boosted by the acquisition of support for the world’s three largest chip manufacturers.
Their support was announced at a time when the UK Competition and Market Authority is preparing for a review that could oppose the takeover. The potential deal is also being investigated in the United States, the European Union and China.
Rival Qualcomm and technology giants, including Microsoft, fear Nvidia may limit the company’s technology offerings to competitors, or raise prices. Arm offers plans to more than 500 companies that build their own chips based on them.
