Chances of Erdogan winning next Sunday’s presidential election as per opinion polls

An opinion poll conducted by the Turkish Research Foundation and published by the Hurriyet newspaper showed that Recep Tayyip Erdogan would win the second round of the presidential election with 53.7% of the vote.

More than 3,000 people aged 18 and over from 26 states who are eligible to vote and live in Turkey took part in the survey.

According to the results of the poll, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to be re-elected with 53.7% of the vote in the second round of the presidential elections, and it is assumed that the second round will see a vote shift of 1.75% in favor of Tayyip Erdogan and 1.25% in in favor of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu out of 5% of the votes given to former candidate Sinan Ogan in the first round, and the remaining undecided voters are distributed proportionally.

When asked by poll participants about the reason for their vote for Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the first round, 41.2% answered that they “trust him”, 29.6% answered “stability”, 24.8% answered that he keeps his promises, and 4 .4% answered that they chose it as the answer of the opposition.

Incumbent Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won 49.52% of the vote in the first round of the presidential elections, while his opponent from seven opposition parties, Kamal Kılıçdaroğlu, 44.88%.

The second round of presidential elections is scheduled for May 28.
