Business women from Afghanistan will attend in PAJCCI Focus Group Discussion

For first time after new government in Afghanistan, Afghan business women and members of Chamber of Afghan Women of Trade and industry involved in Focus group discussion between stakeholders of Pak afghan trade.

According to a press release issued by PAJCCI on Monday, Pakistan-Afghan Joint Chamber of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI) meets start 10th Focus Group Discussion (FGD) between stakeholders of Pakistani-Afghan trade in Islamabad on Tuesday (August 30).

FGD Forum will discuss on current issues and opportunities related to bilateral, transit and possible solutions to remove barriers on the way trade with Afghanistan and the Republics of Central Asia (CAR).

PAJCCI’s commitment to attract and provide a platform for women in business on both parties will be satisfied after participation of Afghan businessmen on discussion, it added.

the Afghan delegation headed by Khan Jan Alokozai; The PAJCCI co-chair will arrive today (Monday) in Islamabad, it is added.

PAJCCI was successfully holding several meetings in big cities, as well as at border crossings like Chaman, Torkham and cities like Swat and Gawadar will take part in various business community and inviting Afghan delegations to border crossings to promote joint discussions and relationships building.

PAJCCI Chairman Zubair Motiwala expressed satisfaction arrival of the Afghan delegation especially in current difficult times together with business woman.

He expressed hope that the 10th FGD would offer practical solutions to eliminate short and long term trade barriers.

He said the first priority was to increase trade with Afghanistan like both countries eat food required each other, available cheap compared to distant countries, the products can be delivered efficiently and using efficient methods of clearance and transportation; cost of business may be reduced strongly.

Other important item is to increase production in local currency trading listcancel of negative list and removal regulatory barriers like Electronic form, EIF, cash counters at the borders, legal substitutes for banking channels, sales tax and duty paint back refund claim restrictions, infrastructure on both sides and increased power and capability of Afghan government officials through the organization of legal capacity building trainings.

He called on stakeholders to contribute in in any way they can reduce suffering of flood victims on both sides of borders like PAK-AFG both stand currently facing great devastation and overland route trade suffered huge losses. Both countries must work together to deal with food shortages as aftermath of flood.

PAJCCI firmly believes that governments alone cannot resolve questions, private parties concerned key elevate economy of both countries and must take steps set long term Economic relations between businesses.
