British defendant of espionage for Russia will be judged at the Old Bailey at the embassy in Berlin | United Kingdom news

BUT former British embassy security guard in Berlin who accused of espionage for Russia will face Court at the Old Bailey next year.

David Smith, 57, allegedly dies secret information about the British government to military attache.

Smith was arrested by the German police. last August and was extradited to the UK earlier this month.

material he attempted to report allegedly “containing details of activities, identities, addresses and phone numbers of various members of Her Majesty’s Public Service.”

Smith allegedly committed ‘damaging’ actions safety and interest of state by collecting information classified as “secret» about «activities of Her Majesty government”.

He allegedly collected material in connection with the operation and layout of British embassy in Berlin”, with that information thought or intended to be “useful to the enemy, namely the Russian state”.

Smith also supposedly made unauthorized photocopies of documents and videos of embassy security camera system and “keep sim card packaging” he was asked to get rid of of.
