RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Headquarters (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday called the commander of the Balochistan corps and ordered him to help the provincial government in rescue work in flood- affected areas.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army commander ordered the commander of the Balochistan Corps to receive update on flood situation and take all measures to help Balochistan for rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts on state of emergency in coordination with civil administration.
“Unprecedented rains caused destruction of human life and communication infrastructure, especially in Balochistan,” the COAS said in a statement.
He further directed the use of army resources for help affected population and restore critical communication infrastructure as an urgent temporary measure.
