ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday advised the leaders of allied parties take their time decision on subsidies on oil prices and rather wait and buy time to conclusion of visit to the USA of foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and DG-ISI Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum as both visits may help Pakistan is making progress on political and economic fronts.
Prime Minister Sharif who consultation process started with leaders of allied parties in help develop strategy on mandatory requirement or withdraw subsidies on petroleum products and other food items or go for instant polls.
Sources in ruling coalition told this scribe that the consultation process had begun in view of in decisions made by decision of the party, a senior leadership meeting held in London under the chairmanship of party Chief Nawaz Sharif.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also negotiated with PPP High Representative Asif Zardari and discussed way forward preservation in view in rising inflation and possible measures to combat challenges on political and economic front.
Sources cite Zardari as telling the prime minister not to worry and wait for the completion of visit to the US foreign minister Bilawal Zardari and CEO of ISI Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum who is an on visiting the USA these days.
Sources said that Mr. Zardari also urged Prime Minister Sharif to hold new talks with friendly countries especially China and try to get relief package which would help in new government respite in case with problems at hand.
Sources said that Shehbaz Sharif met with MQM-P Organizer Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui who told the premier not to take the burden of withdrawal of subsidies and prepare as soon as possible for polls after needed electoral and other reforms.
MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said Siddiqi told the prime minister that the MQM was ready for polls, but after the census and necessary reforms as promised made with allied party. He said that MQM is not in service of general subsidy for the necessary subsidy must be provided help the poor make ends meet.
However, the ruling party the source said that the DMK advised the prime minister not to go for snap polls since PTI fever coalition.
Meanwhile, JUI-F head Maulana Fazlur Rehman also met with prime minister and advised him not to go for early polls. Fazl told the prime minister to hold new negotiations with IMF and try earn a little breath space as rising popularity of Imran Khan could be dealt with.
