One of students shared a bottle of jose cuervo mix with 10% alcohol content with her classmates before the teacher stopped it.
“There were so many thoughts in my head, like my god, you know. What if it was opened before the girl brought it to school how there was a lot,” said parent Alexis Smith.
Smith said that on Thursday morning she received call from her daughter school, Grand River Academy. They told her that the kindergartner had brought a pre-mixed bottle. of Jose Cuervo in class and shared it with four classmates.
One of they were the five Smith-year-old, reports WDIV.
“I asked her like’My daughter well?’ and she said, “She’s here and she’s all right,” and then I said, “Okay, okay, how she drank a lot,” Smith said.
The school could not give her definite answer.
“My daughter takes medication and first up no baby should drink and you know — it’s you know, just the shot itself, it burns. Like, how you feel? Like, anything could happen,” Smith said.
She chose up her daughter up from school early. Later that day, the director sent out letter to kindergarten parents in part, “disciplinary action will be taken in conformity with in student the code of behavior.”
While the school was closed on Friday, Smith told her daughter will not back on Monday.
“It’s so heartbreaking. I feel like her first year of kindergarten was already breaks because of COVID and situations like it makes the situation even worse,” Smith said.
School officials said they had dealt with the situation but could not share details because of student privacy laws.
