Introduction

Today, on Tuesday, in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, discussed the possibilities of intensifying cooperation and expanding partnerships in the field of digital infrastructure, modern technologies, and capacity development.

The announcement of the meeting was made on the sidelines of Al-Sawah’s visit to China to strengthen relations in technology, space, and innovation.

China, which accounts for the largest share of the region’s digital economy, is keen to support efforts to transform Saudi Arabia into an innovation-driven economy, in addition to supporting economic growth in the Kingdom, according to the Saudi Press Agency SPA.

Enhancing Digital Capabilities

During a visit to the company’s headquarters, the Saudi minister met with a number of Saudi students and tech talent who are being trained to enhance digital capabilities. This training is part of a partnership between the Saudi Digital Academy and Huawei Academy, which is an additional step to strengthen the Kingdom’s position in digitalization in the region.
