Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mukhber considered that the signing of an agreement between Iran and Russia on the implementation of the North-South corridor project is an important step in the development of bilateral relations.
“We must seriously monitor the implementation of this agreement, and I am sure that the countries of the region will also benefit from this,” the Iranian official said, receiving a Russian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
The Iranian Vice President called for a stronger role for the private sector in both countries to more than ever promote the development of economic cooperation between Tehran and Moscow and use all available energy in this regard.
He also called for speeding up the pace of work to phase out the use of the US dollar in commercial transactions between the two countries. He called this step very important in the context of advancing the course of economic relations.
For his part, Novak expressed gratitude for the special interest in the North-South project, noting that it will turn into a strategic route for Iran, Russia and other countries in the region.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia touched upon the possibilities of cooperation that he and the accompanying delegation discussed during the current visit with the Iranian side, noting that the two countries have reached a good consensus on cooperation in the oil and gas, banking and agricultural sectors.
