Selena Gomez joked earlier this month that she was looking for a crush. The ex-One Direction singer was last seen with Gigi Hadid in public.
After being seen having dinner together in New York City, the two pop stars, who are both 30, are being talked about as a possible couple.
When user @klarissa.mpeg shared a text conversation with a friend who said she was the couple’s hostess at an unnamed restaurant in the city, the conversation went viral on TikTok.
After saying that she and her friend both work at places where celebrities like to hang out, she showed a screenshot of their texting conversation in which the friend said, “Tell me how Selena Gomez and Zayn just walked into [restaurant] holding hands and making out, and I seated them.”
Reps for Gomez and Malik responded later when PEOPLE asked them for comments.
A few weeks before the dinner, fans on Twitter noticed that Gomez had recently started following Malik on Instagram again. (She is also one of the only 18 accounts that the singer of “Pillowtalk” follows.)
Fans have also been sharing a red carpet moment from the early 2010s in which Gomez is asked which One Direction member she’d most like to kiss.
“Oh no,” says the singer of “Lose You to Love Me.” Then, with a giggle, he says, “Zayn.”
The last time the Only Murders in the Building star was linked to Drew Taggart of the Chainsmokers was in January, when the two were seen bowling together. She quickly ended the rumors and posted an Instagram that has since been deleted in which she said she was single.
Gomez made fun of her love life in a TikTok video from earlier this month in which she lip-synced to the words: “I hate it when girls say things like, “Oh my god, my crush doesn’t even know I exist.” My crush doesn’t even exist, girl!”
