PAC requires an audit, record of Supreme Court judges salary

ISLAMABAD: Accounts Committee (PAC) of National Assembly on Tuesday sent the Auditor General for Pakistan (AGP) in complete audit of the Supreme Court within 30 days and requested detailed record on salaries, benefits and privileges of judges of the Supreme Court within a month.

A meeting of the Accounts Committee (PAC) was held here with its chairman Nur Alam Khan in chair, expressed concern over failure of AGP Submit Report on salary, benefits and privileges of judges of the Supreme Court and ordered him to obey in positive.

During the meeting, GAC Chairman Nur Alam Khan raised the question of why AGP failed in submission of a report on the salaries, benefits and privileges of judges of the higher courts.

It is important to note that during last meeting, the GAC ordered that of paid tax from everyone, including politicians, judges and generals, saying that exemption will be granted on-duty personnel of only the military and the police.

According to the report of A private television, Nur Alam Khan said that the masses should know what salary, benefits and privileges judges enjoy of Supreme Court. He ordered AGP complete audit of Supreme Court within 30 days and submit a report to the committee.
