Announcement
With its latest investment, One Crna Gora, a 4iG subsidiary, has acquired a number of frequencies that will enable it to realize its plans to build and develop a high-performance 5G mobile network infrastructure in the future. Following a spectrum auction organized by the Electronic Communications and Postal Services Agency (EKIP), One acquired the 700 MHz and 3600 MHz bands for a period of 15 years. Significant funds of almost three million euros are available for the further strategic development of the company. According to the company’s statement, it will be possible to switch to gigabit speeds throughout the country on existing and newly acquired frequencies.
“Obtaining licenses for the use of the 5G spectrum in Montenegro is another important step towards further infrastructure and future technology investments in the region. We are committed to the development of the 5G network in Montenegro and the Western Balkan region,” said Peter Fekete, CEO of 4iG Group. .
As you know, One Montenegro was the only service provider in 2021 that, as a prudent step, received the right to use the radio spectrum for the operation of TDD systems. With its current step, this is complemented by the ability to provide better geographic coverage and high bandwidth data traffic, so it can already meet the highest expectations of users, and many smart solutions and industrial applications will be implemented in the country.
“After investing in spectrum licenses and completing developments, we will be able to provide quality 5G services to consumers, governments and enterprises. We will continue to strive to accelerate digital transformation, develop higher-level intelligent solutions in Montenegro, ultimately digitalization opens a new chapter,” said Branko Mitrovic, CEO of One.
