Phoenix police confirm they have responded to burglary call at Hobbs campaign office on Tuesday afternoon and it’s not specified items taken at night. Police spokesman Phil Krinsky said detectives were checking security cameras to try to identify the suspect. On surveillance images received from Hobbs campaign the Washington Post, young human wearing shorts and a green T-shirt are visible inside building.
Phoenix police did not identify the arrested person and said they would let him go. more information later on Thursday.
“Secretary Hobbs and her staff faced hundreds of death threats and threats of violence over well of this is campaign. Throughout this race we have been clear what safety of our staff and of secretary our number one priority, Hobbs campaign manager Nicole DeMont said in statement late on Wednesday evening.
“Let’s be clear: for for nearly two years, Kari Lake and her allies have been spreading dangerous disinformation and fomenting threats against anyone they see fit,” DeMont. added. “Threats against Arizona residents try to exercise their constitutional rights and their attacks on elected officials are direct result of agreed campaign of lies and intimidation.”
Lake told CNN that Hobbs’ campaign statement was “absolutely absurd.”
“And you guys buy it? Are you really buying this? Because it sounds like Jussie Smollett Part Two,” Lake told CNN, referring to the actor. who was found guilty of false hate message crime. “She is trying to distract herself from her own bottomless campaign and fact what do you know no one even knows where she is campaign office is.”
Lake and Hobbs are engaged in bitter campaign for governor, and polls showed that the two locked in dense race. Lake, who was approved by Donald Trump, accepted and distributed former presidential false claims that the 2020 presidential election stolen. In July, Lake posted on Twitter a photo of a drop box she said that in northern Arizona. “Potential Mules beware: we are watching drop boxes all over the state,” she said. “Smile… maybe you on camera!”
