The police evacuated Trafalgar Square and took away out controlled explosion after reports of suspicious vehicle yards far from where the part of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will be celebrated.
Metropolitan policemen were seen asking people leave area after receiving a report from a member of in public at 9:22 on Saturday.
Guests staying at a nearby hotel also evacuated and reported to the police people don’t drive to area.
People close to the scene said they heard the explosion, and Scotland Yard confirmed:small controlled explosion” was carried out out. The press service said that this is not connected with terrorism.
The area where Nelson’s Column is located and extends out in front of The National Gallery has since been reopened.
“The police have read the report of a member of in public at 09:22 of suspicious vehicle in Trafalgar Square. This was investigated, and after the police took action, we no longer worry.
