ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday ordered financial help for farmers affected by damage to their crops in Sialkot from behind firing incident.
He ruled the Punjab government immediately give aid checks to farmers whose 90,000 kilograms worth of the wheat crop was burned.
Incident of burning of harvest happened on April 23 at Bela Pool Bajwaan in Bajwat sector. wheat harvest on 77 acres area was burned, affecting 15 farmers.
According to the investigation, fire lit up by mistake in harvesting machine. fire further expanded when it absorbed the reserve of 80 liters diesel and fire the brigade could not get there in time due to 32 kilometers distance. However fire brigade managed to take control fire and stop further crop damage in the bud.
