Body to investigate ‘physical abuse’ in Punjab CM elections

LAHORE:

deputy speaker of Punjab Assembly Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari on On Sunday, a committee was set up to investigate physical abuse. on presiding and legislators and obstacles in litigation during elections of chief of Punjab minister the day before.

“So, in an exercise of all powers, Acting Speaker/Presiding Officer/Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab was glad to be special the committee in terms of Rule 187 of regulations of Procedure of provincial assembly of Punjab 1997, consisting of above,” the notice says.

Nine-member committee to present its recommendations for appropriate action against those responsible.

Members belong to five political parties – two each from PML-N and Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI0, one each from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Rahi Haq Party and two independent members. MPA Qasim Abbas Khan (independent candidate) will be the convener. of the committee.

From PML-N side, MPA Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and Samiullah Khan; from PTI, Taimoor Ali Lali and Muhammad Salman; from the PPP, Syed Ali Hyder Gillani; from PML-Q Muhammad Abdullah Warraikh; from the Rahi Haq party, Muhammad Moavia; and Independent MPs Qasim Abbas Khan (Convener) and Syed Maimanat Mohsin will be part of of the committee.

All concerned ministers, administrative secretaries and leaders of in government industry departments and organizations should assist the committee in performance of their functions. He must also consider any other matter referred to him house and submit your report within seven days.

On Saturday PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz was “elected as new main minister of province provision 197 votes among the chaos that erupted in provincial assembly, but his rival candidate declared the election “illegal”.
