Merseyside Police started murder post-incident investigation in in city Centre on Saturday evening.
force said emergency services were called at an internet cafe in London Road around 5:50 pm after reporting that 18-year- The old man was attacked.
The victim was taken to the hospital in ambulance but pronounced dead- said the police.
DCI Terry Davis said London Road would be busy with people at that time of incident and filed an appeal for anyone with information get in touch.
He added: “We in earliest stages of investigation as we are trying to ascertain what the place and who was involved.
“At that time of incident, London Road would be busy with people so I would ask anyone who was in neighborhood this evening around 5:30 pm who saw or heard something suspicious or possibly captured something important on them mobile telephone, video recorder and video surveillance, for communication us how important of urgency.”
