ISLAMABAD: In response to a letter from President Arif Alvi finalizing a date for new national polls in country, electoral commission of Pakistan on Thursday said that general elections are not possible before this October year.
In a letter to the president, the chief election commissioner said that seven months required conduct free, honest and transparent surveys in the country.
ECP took four months to complete demarcations, in in addition, for the organization general elections in 90 days, read the letter.
President Alvi asks for ECP fix election date
A day earlier, President Arif Alvi instructed KEK to finalize the date for new national polls as the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing due to legality of political maneuvers leading to the dissolution of parliament.
