Nintendo will close its Toronto and California offices for the foreseeable future. The company reports this to Kotaku.
Earlier this weekend, sources told Kotaku that some 100 employees of the publisher to be moved.
“The Nintendo of America headquarters are located in Redmond and Vancouver,” said a spokesperson. “We are moving our employees and operations to those headquarters and will be closing the Toronto and Redwood City branches in the near future.”
The closure has had some shifts in management as a result. Nick Chavez, who succeeded current Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser, is leaving as head of sales, marketing and communications. Devon Prichard temporarily takes over his work in the United States and Canada.
Nintendo’s official headquarters is in Kyoto, Japan. The headquarters of Nintendo of Europe, Nintendo of Australia and Nintendo of Korea are located in Frankfurt, Melbourne and Seoul respectively.
