According to Steam Deck designer Greg Coomer, Valve wants to make more haldheld PCs in the future.
We hope this actually becomes a category where you have several choices,” said Coomer during a interview with PC Gamer “We want to continue making devices in this product line.”
The designer also considers a scenario where third parties develop similar devices: “If we are right about the new category then there will be a lot more choice, with other manufacturers participating and making a handheld PC and that different name.”
The Steam Deck is a handheld PC that players can connect to other displays. The device is intended to play “all Steam games” easy to play and will be released this fall.
