2022 Budget of Oman Records Surplus of $2.97 Billion.

By the end of 2022, the overall budget of the Sultanate of Oman recorded a surplus of around 1.144 billion rials ($2.97 billion).

Actual revenues increased by 37% compared to estimated revenues and reached a record 14.473 billion rials ($37.7 billion), while actual government spending was 13.329 billion rials ($34.7 billion).

The government of Oman is directing additional financial revenues to accelerate the pace of stimulating economic growth, increase government support for fuel and basic commodities, reduce public debt and manage the loan portfolio, according to the Oman News Agency.

The total actual spending on development projects for ministries and civil government units amounted to about 1.306 billion rials, an increase of 406 million rials compared to the appropriations approved in the budget.
