French Ministry of Education Closes Schools for Disinfection
Le Parisien newspaper reported that the French Ministry of Education has decided to close five schools to carry out disinfection operations against “bugs” that have spread widely.
Spread of Bugs in Schools
The newspaper indicated that we are talking about schools scattered across different administrations in the south, southeast and east of the country, and that “bed bugs” were also found in a number of other educational institutions, but it was decided not to close them completely.
Earlier reports indicated that London, in turn, was suffering a two-thirds increase in the number of “bed bug” cases.
According to microbiologist David Kane, the scale of the problem in London can be compared to the situation that Paris is experiencing due to these pests.
Increase in Bed Bug Cases
According to the data, the number of households suffering from bed bugs has increased significantly between 2021 and 2023. Please note that the prevalence of these parasites increases significantly in the summer, especially when many people start organizing group trips.
The newspaper also noted that the problem has worsened since authorities lifted restrictions related to the Corona virus, and insects can now be seen in transport and hospitals.
