Tests to Detect Tumors: What You Need to Know
Anton Ivanov, a specialist in surgical oncology and chemotherapy, referred to certain tests that detect tumors.
General Blood Analysis
This test detects cell types that are normal in the blood, as well as cells that are elevated or decreased. This analysis also detects infections in the body that usually accompany the onset of malignant tumors.
Blood Chemistry
This analysis shows the presence of biochemical markers that regulate the functioning of internal organs.
Genetic Markers and Mutations
The study of genetic markers or mutations may indicate the presence of a tumor in the body or a predisposition to it.
Immunogram
An immunogram shows the distribution of lymphocytes that fight cells infected by viruses, bacteria, and cancer cells. If the percentage of lymphocytes exceeds 20 percent, a detailed and comprehensive examination by an oncologist is necessary to identify a possible malignant tumor.
Additional Examinations
If necessary, a detailed examination of organs (biopsy) and immunohistochemical studies can also be carried out.
