Sharjah Power Supply Fully Restored After Technical Defect
The Incident
The Sharjah government press office said today, Friday, that the work crews were able to fully restore the power supply to areas of the city of Sharjah after a sudden technical defect occurred, which led to a shutdown of gas supply to the power plant.
The department added that work is underway to eliminate a technical malfunction at a gas plant in the Sajaa region.
Residents Affected
Dubai-based Khaleej Times previously quoted residents as saying on social media that parts of Sharjah were out of power.
No Official Response
The Sharjah Government Media Authority or the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority did not respond to Reuters requests for comment.
At 11:35 GMT Friday, the temperature in Sharjah was 38 degrees Celsius and the humidity was 58%, according to Weather.com.
