Apple Pay Now Available in Vietnam
Apple Pay is now available in Vietnam, allowing Apple users with a participating bank’s debit or credit card to make transactions using the Wallet app.
Infrastructure Development
The arrival of Apple Pay in Vietnam was first rumored in July, and since then, many institutions have been working to develop the necessary infrastructure to support the payments service. iPhone and Apple Watch owners can now use their devices to make purchases at stores supporting Apple Pay’s contactless payment capabilities without manually entering payment information. Techcombank, according to leaked information, has plans to support Apple Pay.

Accessible Locations
Apple Pay will be accessible at various locations in Vietnam, including WinMart, Phuc Long, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Highlands Coffee, and CGV Cinemas. With the prevalence of QR codes as a payment method in the country, it will be interesting to see how Apple Pay competes with other payment services.

Global Expansion
Since its launch in 2014, Apple has been working to make Apple Pay more widely available. The service currently supports over seventy-five countries, and the company has plans to expand into additional nations through new business partnerships.
After two years of negotiations, Apple Pay will also be launching in Chile starting tomorrow.
