Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: New Details Revealed at San Diego Comic-Con
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year for PS5 owners. Insomniac Games took the opportunity at San Diego Comic-Con to share new information about the game’s story, Venom, and characters.
A Gripping Story and Deadly Enemies
The game’s story takes place approximately nine months after the events of Miles Morales’ Spider-Man. Peter Parker is faced with economic problems and may even have to sell Aunt May’s house, while Miles Morales is struggling to balance his “normal” life with being a superhero. Mary Jane must confront the return of J. John Jameson to The Daily Bungle, who aims to clean up the newsroom.
The Intimidating Villain: Venom
Venom will play a crucial role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The creative director, Brian Intihar, assures fans that they will stay true to the character’s iconic stories and abilities while delivering a unique Venom story. The game’s senior art director, Jacinda Chu, confirms that Venom’s design draws inspiration from the comics but adds their own interpretation to fit the game. Venom will have a unique version of the white spider badge on its chest and display powerful, tendril-like attacks with a balance of liquid and hardness.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be launching on October 20, 2023, exclusively for PS5. It will be available in stores and as part of limited edition bundles featuring PlayStation 5 and DualSense controllers.
