Understanding Kidney Cancer: Symptoms and Causes
Symptoms of Kidney Cancer
Professor Alexander Sirykov, an oncologist, said that kidney cancer often does not show any symptoms in its early stages.
In a conversation with the Izvestia newspaper, the professor points out that with the development of the disease, some symptoms may appear, such as blood in the urine, constant pain in the back or side, unjustified weight loss and a feeling of fatigue that does not go away even after sufficient rest, as well as an increase in body temperature.
Importance of Seeking Medical Advice
He says: “It is important to understand that these symptoms do not always indicate kidney cancer. However, any of them can be a sign of a disease in the body, so you need to see a doctor and conduct the necessary examinations and tests.
Causes of Kidney Cancer
According to him, kidney cancer, like other types of cancer, begins with mutations in the DNA of cells. These mutations often result from exposure to carcinogens or substances, or from a genetic predisposition. As a result, cells begin to divide and multiply uncontrollably, which leads to the development of a tumor.
He says: “The exact causes of kidney cancer are not yet known. However, there are factors that can increase the risk of developing this disease. Among these factors are aging, smoking, being overweight, chronic kidney failure, and a genetic predisposition to kidney cancer.”
