US President Joe Biden said that the process of congressional approval of a bill to raise the US national debt ceiling is going according to plan.
Biden told reporters at the White House about the matter on Wednesday: “We will deal with the national debt ceiling. I think everything is going according to plan.”
The House Select Committee agreed to vote on a bill to raise the national debt ceiling.
Parliament is expected to vote on the bill on 31 May. The Senate will then vote for it, and it will be sent to President Biden for signature.
Biden called on both houses of Congress to approve the bill, which was agreed between the White House and Congress last week after difficult discussions.
