It seems that the famous application “Tik Tok” found itself in need of keeping up with the trend of artificial intelligence and announced that it has recently joined this wave.
The platform said it is currently testing a chatbot called “Taco” that can answer questions and chat with app users.
The robot designer said he was exploring new ways to manage search and discovery on the TikTok app, according to the Wall Street Journal.
He added that he looks forward to learning from the community as he and his team continue to create a place that inspires creativity and promotes culture.
in the form of a ghost
As for the “taco”, it now appears as a small ghost icon in the upper right corner of the app screen.
After clicking on this icon, users enter the messenger, where they can ask questions. Pochuk told Bloomberg that Taco can also make content recommendations based on users’ interests and preferences.
Users can also delete their data, but are warned not to share personal information with the chatbot. They are also advised not to rely solely on the bot for medical, legal, or financial advice because “comments received from (taco) are artificially generated intelligence and may be “incorrect or accurate”.
The move comes at a time when TikTok, owned by Chinese company ByteDance, is pushing for artificial intelligence and lawmakers in the United States and Europe are looking to crack down on the app for fear of Chinese government data abuse.
Indeed, this month Montana became the first US state to take action to ban TikTok, but the legislation faces legal challenges.
more accurate data
Notably, the Tik Tok app is keeping up with its technology peers like Snap, Microsoft, and Google in developing chatbots and other AI-powered tools, which has become the noisiest technology engulfing Internet in recent years.
In addition, Taco will allow TikTok to get more accurate data than ever before to provide users with personalized and targeted content.
