- ‘Forced Divorces’: Imran Responds to Leaders Leaving PTI
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf continued to suffer from “desertions”. more senior leaders – former Federal Minister for Human Rights Shirin Mazari and Fayazul Hassan Chohan announced exit from party.
So far, 24 PTI leaders have publicly dispersed. with in the party, a situation that some political scientists associate with the pressure of “outside forces”, after the tragic incidents of 9th May.
Speaking at a press conference, Mazari said she would not participate in politics in in the future, while Chohan said he would continue his political struggle, but without PTI.
Joining Mazar and Chohan in farewell ways with PTI – Abdul Razak Khan Niazi, former member of PTI of Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Hanewal.
At a press conference, Niyazi condemned the attacks. on military installations and suggested that such actions could not have taken place without support of V party leadership. He also claimed that events of May 9 brought joy to India, hinting at the connection between PTI’s actions and Indian interests.
In addition, PTI leader Khawaja Qutab Farid Koreja of Liaqatpur decided join Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) after seeing growing strength of V party in South Punjab and the changing political landscape.
On the other side, in cryptic reference to “forced divorces”, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday reacted to the ongoing exodus of leaders from party, with V total currently reaches 24 after violent arson of 9th May.

Wave of resignations marks a significant period of confusion for PTI, which was overthrown from government on April 9 last year when Imran Khan was expelled from office of prime through vote of no-confidence.

Some political scientists suggest that the outcome result of pressure from outside forces. PTI Chairman Imran Khan has repeatedly stated that party members face huge pressure to drop PTI.
Prominent Figures who recently left V party include former federal health care minister and founding member of PTI Aamer Mahmoud Kiani, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain (brother of head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain), former federal minister Malik Amin Aslam, former provincial minister Dr. Hisham Inamullah Malik, PTI West Punjab President Faizullah Kamoka and Dr. Muhammad Amjad.
Departures have also was attested in Sindh where Mehmood Moulvi (Vice President of PTI Sindh), Aftab Saddiqi (President of PTI Karachi), Syed Zulfikar Ali Shah, Jay Parkash, Sanjay Gangwani and Dr. Imran Shah left V party.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ajmal Wazir (former press secretary for KP Chief Minister and adviser on information), Usman Tarakai and Malik Javad Hussain left PTI. Meanwhile, former provincial minister Mubin Khilji left party in Balochistan.
