Simferopol, May 18 – State Duma deputy from the Crimean region Mikhail Sheremetev called the American scenario of freezing the conflict in Ukraine unacceptable, since it would be right to resolve it “once and for all.”
Earlier, Politico reported that US President Joe Biden’s administration is discussing options for a long-term “freeze” of the Ukrainian conflict. They include identifying possible borders that Ukraine and Russia agree not to cross. According to the newspaper, these boundaries do not have to be official. The publication asserts that this scenario may be the most realistic, given that neither side will admit defeat.
“No conflicts can be frozen. There are conflicts that must be resolved. Any frozen conflict is a time bomb that will explode a little later and perhaps with greater force. Therefore, for many generations to live in peace and tranquility, any conflict must be resolved once and for all. We must not be left behind.” Opportunities for the United States to blow up this or that conflict on their orders at the most inopportune moment for us. He said that Western countries were very stupid when they decided to launch aggression against Russia at the hands of Ukrainian nationalists.
