Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser has decided to stop accepting applications for licenses and adding cars to public taxi operations in the city of Mecca Al Mukarrama.
The decision, which was published in the official gazette Umm Al-Qura, does not apply to applications that were legally registered before the date of this decision, provided that the application procedures are completed and their requirements are met by the institutions within three months from the date of filing an application.
The decision indicated that it was taken after the inspection of the public transport system on the roads of Saudi Arabia, the organization of the General Directorate of Transportation and the decision to approve the regulation governing the tariff activity, the tariff broker and routing and amendments thereto, in addition to the decision to approve the work with technical conditions and technical means for airport taxis, public transport and changes to it.
