Islamic Jihad factions and other groups fired a salvo of rockets from the Gaza Strip on Thursday evening at Israeli settlements, where the Iron Dome intercepted several of them.
An Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadas correspondent reported that new rocket attacks were carried out towards Ashkelon, hitting houses in the village of Sderot.

He also indicated that the rockets had reached the Rishon Lezion and Holon areas in central Israel, noting that warning sirens continue to sound in communities around the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian media reported that al-Quds brigades fired a salvo of long-range missiles at Israeli cities, noting that warning sirens sounded in Ashkelon.
The Palestinian media added that sirens also sounded in Suf, Bri-Jan, Ashkol, Zikim, Mekkim and the Negev.
Assassination of two jihad leaders
This came just hours after it was announced that two Islamic Jihad leaders, Ali Ghali and Ahmed Abu Dhaka, had been hit by Israeli airstrikes, which was confirmed by the movement.
Airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Thursday killed six Palestinians, including two Islamic Jihad leaders, while one person was killed and at least two injured in central Israel after being hit by a Palestinian rockets.
On Thursday, Israeli police announced in a statement that a man had died after a rocket hit a building in the city of Rehovot in central Israel.
According to the IDF, 547 rockets have been fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel since Wednesday, 175 of them intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system.
Raids on 166 targets
On Thursday, the army said it had carried out strikes on 166 targets in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced that he had instructed the security forces to “take all necessary measures to prepare (…) and maintain readiness for the possibility of increased fire.”
In August 2022, three days of armed clashes between Israel and Islamic Jihad killed 49 Palestinians, including 12 jihadists, according to the movement, and at least 19 children, according to the UN.
