Moscow, May 9 – The head of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered the opening of criminal cases regarding the fact of another desecration of monuments to Soviet soldiers in Austria and Poland, according to the RF IC telegram channel.
The Russian Embassy in Vienna reported that in Eppenfurt, unknown vandals had destroyed a bas-relief on a monument to Soviet soldiers who gave their lives to liberate Austria from Nazism. In addition, according to the Warsaw Investigative Committee, on the base of one of the sculptural compositions on the territory of the Memorial Cemetery of Soviet Soldiers, inscriptions of anti-Russian and obscene content were applied with black paint.
“The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to open criminal cases on the fact of another desecration of antiquities in the Republic of Austria and the Republic of Poland,” the statement said.
