Today, Saturday, Egyptian Supply Minister Ali Moseli announced the purchase of 1.2 million tons of local wheat from the start of the new supply season.
Al-Moselhi said in a statement that this year there is an improvement in the quality of imported wheat and an increase in supply compared to the same period last year.
He added that the number of receiving points reaches 420 different points, and they vary between vertical and field silos, hangers, bakeries, advanced warehouses and mill silos.
The Minister stated that payment of dues takes place 48 hours after delivery.
The Ministry of Supply has restricted the sale of local wheat to the Egyptian Silos Holding Company, the Silo General Company and the Milling Companies, which are part of the Food Processing Holding Company and the Egyptian Agricultural Bank.
The ministry has banned the movement of local 2023 wheat from one location to another without the permission of the Department of Supply, as well as the use of local wheat as fish feed or its entry into animal feed.
She stated that the price of an ardab of 23.5 purity was £1,500, that of a 23 purity was £1,475, and the price of a 22.5 purity was about £1,450.
