Journalist Jeff Grubb claims that Sony will hold a summer showcase as it prepares for the PlayStation 5’s (PS5) next phase.

Grubb asserts that Sony’s most recent State of Play would never have been a sizable showing on the most recent Game Mess Decides podcast episode. He asserts that the business has been waiting for a different performance to attract fans.
Around the 32:00 minute of the video below, Grubb adds, “They’re [Sony] reserving their good things for the PlayStation Showcase that’s going to come before E3.” They kept delaying it because their developers needed to prepare when it was meant to happen last fall.
The PlayStation 5’s second phase should be introduced in a big event now that the developers are prepared.

Although sales of the PS5 have been steady during its third year on the market, many fans are beginning to yearn for more from Sony. A significant summer PlayStation Showcase might be needed to revive interest in a console becoming more widely accessible to gamers.
So what might such hype mean? Sony has been working on a new PS5 model with a removable disc drive in addition to games in development. The business is also developing new wireless headsets for the console and wireless earbuds.
The hardware for the new console will be almost identical to that of the PS5 units already in use. The headsets will likely be available closer to the March 2024 conclusion of the 2023 fiscal year.
What do you anticipate from Sony and the PS5 over the upcoming years?
