Parliamentary committee fails to reach consensus on appointment of Punjab caretaker CM – Pakistan

A parliamentary committee is set up to appoint an acting head of the Punjab. minister failed come to a consensus on Friday, leaving the issue to the decision of the election commission of Pakistan (EKP).

He criticized Elahi for stating that he would go to the Supreme Court if the case came to the election monitoring body, stating that this was indicative of a “lack of of confidence in the committee”.

Khan demanded that the PTI-PML-Q alliance name “more professional man” than Chima. He added that the ruling coalition objected to Cheema due to ongoing corruption case against to him.

He also defended for Naqvi’s appointment, stating that he was “a non-partisan person” and “media tsar who have worked with CNN“.

Murtaza expressed regret that both sides could not reach an agreement on cause.

“Today we are not in position to decide and cannot reach consensus of opinion on nothing and reason for i.e. the members are sent with diktat that “you don’t have to take anything,” he said.
