Who’s on strike today and how will it affect you? December 30

Today, in connection with the approach of the New Year, a large-scale strike is taking place.

More than 1,000 border troops belonging to the government and commercial services (PCS). union take part in in an eight-day strike of holiday period.

The army was called in to mitigate any possible failures in six airports hit by strikes.

However, queues seem to be minimal and airports even perform “better than usual”. in some areas.

PCS union general secretary Mark Servotka said: “We understand that our actions are likely to cause inconvenience to travelers, but even if we escalate them in advance of Christmas, remember people this dispute can be resolved today if the government more money on Table.’

Driving examiners have also decided to strike today, which means that some tests may be affected.

People were urged to check the government’s decisions. website for more information.

The strike is part of the wider national union strike over salary, pensions, work and dismissal terms.

National Highway Workers Continue to Strike – As Part of of widespread walk outs from December 16 to January 7.

There were warnings over potential delays on road like result of protests.

Those responsible for programming of electronic signs that provide information about speed lane restrictions and overlaps – who work closely with emergency road monitoring services are among the striking workers.

Bus drivers strike tomorrow – New Year’s Eve – with further strike planned for sectors of the UK workforce.
