He highlighted the potential of cooperation in economic and investment sectors and expressed their desire of government to further strengthen and diversify bilateral trade and economic ties between the two countries.
Khodzhaev Jamshid Abdukhakimovich, Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Investments and foreign trade of Uzbekistan recognized friendly relations and cooperation with Pakistan. He exchanged views on expanding bilateral economic and trade connections with Pakistan and showed great interest in establishing road and rail links between the two countries through Afghanistan.
The two sides discussed various brochures of cooperation to deepen trade and economic partnership between the two countries including improvement of road infrastructure from Tashkent to Pakistan, Pakistan-Afghanistan-Uzbekistan Railway communication, export/import facilitation. The parties agreed to strengthen current trade volume between two countries at the optimum level. Uzbek side also looking for technical support of Pakistan for its inclusion in WTO and obtaining GSP+ status.
Two sides also expressed confidence this scheduled meeting of Joint Intergovernmental Commission in February 2023 in Pakistan will further expand bilateral economic cooperation and investment on a mutually beneficial basis. of two countries.
