Written court order on interim bail of prime minister’s son

LAHORE: An accountability court in Lahore on Issued a written order on Monday on temporary bond of Suleman Shehbaz, elder son of in prime minister, in 16 billion rupees money laundering case.

Shahbaz, who returned to Pakistan earlier this month, was released on bail after petitioning for pre-arrest pledge in certificate filed by the National Accounting Bureau (NAB) in 2020.

The court said in a written order that Shehbaz should join investigation and make sure of his presence in every hearing in court.

Court also ordered him to submit guarantees worth 500,000 rupees for his satisfaction and sent notifications to the NAB by 7 January. petitioner told the court he was innocent and booked in case contrary to the facts, the order read.

It went on to say that, according to Shehbaz, if he were arrested, it would cause unprecedented damage to him.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) stopped the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from arresting Shehbaz following his arrival from London.

it worth mentioning that NAB had written a letter to the British government in hand over Shahbaz, who was wanted through accountability watchdog under money laundering allegations and the illegal funds scandal.

An accountability court in 2019 also unsecured warrants for him arrest in in money laundering case.
