Ian Blackford, SNP Leader in Westminster accused by Liz Truss of scapegoat Andrew Bailey, Governor of bank of England.
Speaking in house of Commons, he said, “When the prime minister last stood on the dispatch box, the middle two year fixed rate mortgage amounted to 4.5%. Now they are 6.5% and rising, falling into the middle families with additional £450 per month of mortgage payments every month over and beyond what they paid.
“37 days of work, that’s literally cost of incompetence of the prime minister. it price households pay and all because of The chancellor she chose.
“Will she now give up her desperate plan to save her chancellor’s skin by making the governor a scapegoat of bank of England?”
Ms Truss said: “The actions we have taken mean families in Scotland and the United Kingdom facing colossal electricity bills.
